Valerie Maxville Education Program Leader
| Valerie Maxville has an honours degree in Computer Science and is completing a PhD in Software Engineering. Her previous role was as Research Associate on the Virtual Innovation Clusters project with Professor Ashley Lloyd at Curtin Business School. The main thrust of this work was to look at how business could benefit from the application of Grid and HPC to enhance collaboration and utilise resources, data, expertise and local knowledge through a global Grid. Valerie has worked in lecturing, research and administration at Curtin, Murdoch and ECU and studied at each of those institutions in Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Systems.
She is also active in the local ICT industry, as a Executive Committee member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Valerie is the chair of the ICT Industry Collaboration Centre in WA, which brings together the ACS, AIIA, ATUG, EA, IEEE and WAIA with the Department of Industry and Resources to help coordinate and promote the ICT industry in WA.
