Access to Pawsey-funded infrastructure including Epic and the Petascale Data Store is project based and obtained via a regular merit allocation process.  Applications for new or renewing projects are performed via an online form.

To add a user to an existing project, no forms are required.  The Principal Investigator (or other admin of the project) must email help@ivec.org requesting the user be added.  Please include the user's name, institution and email address.  The new user will be contacted to agree to the iVEC Conditions of Use.

Supercomputing

Applications for supercomputer use in 2012 are now being taken, and can be made via an online form. Applications close on December 2, 2011. Note that the merit allocation scheme covers the whole year.

To assist researchers new to iVEC to be ready for the merit allocation process, a separate application form is available which uses the Director's Share of the supercomputers.  This is intended for short term use of the supercomputers and data store - more permanent use must be through the merit allocation scheme.

Please note that our older machines, Cognac & XE, are going to be shut down permanently mid December 2011.

Data Storage

The supercomputing merit allocation scheme includes access to data storage.  A separate application is not required.

A tailored application form for data storage is being developed.  In the meantime, use the Director's share form and skip the supercomputing/software questions.

Other iVEC Services
