The ARRC facility has two Infitec 3d projectors. 3d projection enhances our instinctive understanding of 3d samples. The ARRC facility also includes a Quad core computer with 64GB of RAM. Together with various pieces of software including Avizo, this is used for loading the very large data sets associated with CT and coherent light source (syncrotron) scans of geological samples.
