Rebecca Hartman-Baker began her career at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where she was the Computational Scientist Liaison Task Lead before joining iVEC in July 2012. Her expertise lies in the development of efficient algorithms for massively parallel systems.
She has experience working with application scientists in a wide variety of scientific fields (including chemistry, nuclear physics, and logistics) to optimise their codes for leadership-class supercomputers. As a postdoctoral research associate at ORNL she developed the initial implementation of load balancing in the R&D 100 award-winning software suite Multiscale Adaptive Numerical Environment for Scientific Simulation (MADNESS). Rebecca earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science, with a certificate in Computational Science and Engineering, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
